The Packers have looked good so far this season, though I'm sure they'll lose somewhere along the way. Don't feel bad about the Jags, my younger brother is a Bills fan, he's had it rough for 2 decades, lol.Dragan Kalasa wrote:jetcitywoman wrote:The Steelers weren't even established till 1933. c'mon man
The Ravens weren't even established till 1995. Can you blame them for not winning before that.jetcitywoman wrote:ps How many rings can the Ravens claim: 1. (12 years ago)
You're not going to win this one.
Frankly, I'm not sure why I'm even doing this. I'm a Jags fan. We suck. At one time, we were the thorn in Pittsburgh's side. But no longer..not yet at least. We need a lot to turn our team around, as we too are getting older.
I just don't understand why a lot of Steeler fans can't ever admit that the better team won when they lost. It's either Pittsburgh wins, they rub it in your face, or Pittsburgh loses, they cry foul and remind everyone that they have rings. Some don't do that, but a lot do. Just sayin' the rings excuse is lame now to me.
BTW...my prediction at the end of week 1 was that the Packers are going to repeat. I'm still holding to that.
Bullshit!

Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.
Yes even though you have lost to them twice this year....you are definitely better than the Ravens. That makes sense....in crazyland!!! Here's the most telling part of the story. Sure your record is 6-3. Here's the list of the 6 teams you have beaten...Seattle, Indianapolis, Tennessee, Jacksonville, New England, and Arizona. Besides the Patriots, that's not exactly a list of who's who in the NFL. In fact three of those teams have only won two games, and one of them hasn't won yet!! The ONLY teams you have played with WINNING records are Baltimore (twice) Houston and New England. In which case you have lost 3 of the 4. Win/loss doesn't always tell the whole story.jetcitywoman wrote:The "experts" have baltimore ranked #2 sharing that spot with 49ers; what crock! They obviously don't watch the same games I do. They have Giants ranked #4! LOL, We the Steelers are #5 down from #2 spot. Obviously GB is #1.
The Giants are ranked higher than us?? What a joke! Eli sucks, Big Ben is multiples better than him. Our receiver corp is elite and are far more talented than New York's (we have the fastest guy on the planet!)I firmly believe that we are far far better than we are playing at present. Our D shut down the Raven's run game and Rice, one of the best running backs in the game! With one lucky pass in last 10 secs they pull the game out, BFD. Ranked #2, haha i think not! We are definitely better than the Giants. hands down. Better than the Ravens. (always have been) i think it was THREE playoffs we knocked them out of! Those are the big games, where it really counts to step up; and the Steelersare known for and have always stepped up!
We should either BE #2 or be the ones to share share this spot with 49ers who I think are playing way above their head and will crash and burn this second half of the season.
Anyway, that's my analysis, and i think it spot on!
Oh, almost forgot here's the rankings:

Answer this Jet... If the Steelers are so "almightily good", then why was it such a close game? And do you realize that several other games were lost NOT because the Steelers blew the Ravens out of the water, but because of a missed catch? SEVERAL games were lost, with that one detail in mind. Yes, a win is a win, but you can't call a missed catch ending the game "dominating"
Now, on the other hand, the first game between the Steelers and Ravens this season is DOMINATING! The game ended 35-7. One missed catch wasn't to blame for the loss there, they were BEATEN. Not even lightly either. If the Steelers were such a "#2" team, that game wouldn't've happened in any form like it did. If they were so amazingly great, the games would've ended up the other way
I'm all for stating opinion about a team, and am willing to share my own. But don't give us opinions and call them facts. Yes, the Steelers won 6 championships. But they've won the Super Bowl TWICE over the past 10 years. Yes, that is more than the Ravens. But then, that's not as many as the Patriots (regardless of whether or not I like them). Are they less talented? No. Can a game be won by both talent and luck? Absolutely. But is a 3-5 point lead a "blow out"? Not in the NFL

That season opener against the Ravens was disappointing but i give them a pass on that and here's why. First game of the season against a rival team on their home field. A team (the Ravens) who have been hearing all last year "Why can't you beat the Steelers?" They were jacked and soundly thrashed us. I'll give them that. But they're no where near that good!Naga wrote:Answer this Jet... If the Steelers are so "almightily good", then why was it such a close game? Very interesting read. Don't agree with all the analysis...but points to ponder.

So basically facts don't matter.....only opinions? I explain to you why your team isn't as good as you think they are. They have beaten teams with a combined record of 15-34!!! And you reply with move back to Seattle...and I'm posting in Steeler country? That's not even an attempt at debating. Can you try a little harder please?jetcitywoman wrote:wow, maybe you should move back to Seattle, shitty rainy weather and cafe starbukss?sstuckey wrote:Yes even though you have lost to them twice this year....you are definitely better than the Ravens. If they were "nowhere near that good", that game's score wouldn't've been so lopsided. We almost didn't have an Offensive line because of injuries. I believe we had 3rd stringers in there for awhile. Steelers may start off slow but we get the job done..year after year. Superbowl here we come.Naga wrote:If they were "nowhere near that good", that game's score wouldn't've been so lopsided. Easy win for us this Sunday.
Former Ravens quarterback Troy Smith is the last rookie to beat the Steelers, back in 2007. Joe Flacco couldn't do it. Jimmy Clausen, Colt McCoy and Blaine Gabbert sure couldn't do it.
Andy Dalton sure ain't going to do it.
Excuses, excuses, excuses. You think yours is the ONLY team battling injuries? Call it what it is!! You can beat crappy teams but you can't beat winning teams. 5 of your 6 wins are against LOSING teams!!! And you are 1-3 against WINNING teams. What part of that equation are you not getting? You keep putting a silk hat on a pig. You lost to Baltimore TWICE...the team you keep saying isn't that good. YOU LOST TWICE!!! 0 for 2. What makes you think you're going to beat them to the Superbowl?!jetcitywoman wrote:We almost didn't have an Offensive line because of injuries. I believe we had 3rd stringers in there for awhile. i think i might have mentioned once or twice how far over their head the Ravens were playing. They lost to Seattle for goodness sake!
Seattle's Tavaris Jackson made Flacco look like the 3rd stringer he really is. The Seahawks mediocre O-line beat the crap out of Baltimore's defense with Lynch having over a 100+ yards running. Where was Ray Rice ..in absentia
So let's see they (Ravens) have lost to the Titans, the Jags and now...the Seahawks.
Playoffs for them...nah i don't believe so.
On the other hand WE crushed Cinci into dust!! Another team that won't make the playoff either, that leaves us a shoe in

Um... as much as I like the Steelers, we did not crush the Bengals. We won by one touchdown, and that gap could have been made up had William Gay not had his first interception since 2008.jetcitywoman wrote:i think i might have mentioned once or twice how far over their head the Ravens were playing. Also, how are we a shoe in for the playoffs when we are 7-3, Cincinnati is 6-3, and Baltimore is 6-3? When we are only half a game ahead in the division standings, that is not a shoe in. There are six games left for us, seven for Baltimore and Cincinnati. Again, I love the Steelers, but the fact is that we may lose every game from here on out. It's unlikely, but entirely possible (just ask the mighty Indianapolis Colts). None of us can see the future, so none of us can say what is gonig to happen until the games are actually played.
The New England Patriots went undefeated in the regular season, but did not win the Super Bowl. Anyone can beat anyone in the NFL.
I agree. 7 points is HARDLY a blowout!!!! I sometimes wonder if this person watches the same games I do. Baltimore clearly raises AND lowers their level of play depending on the teams they face. That is the only explanation I can think of for their lack-luster efforts versus what is clearly sub-par teams.Don Hughes wrote:Um... as much as I like the Steelers, we did not crush the Bengals. Incidentally, if the season ended today....Both Baltimore and Cincinnati (6-3) would still be wildcard teams. 2 out 3 of Ravens losses were against some of worst teams in the league. With only 3 of their last 7 games against playoff contenders, they may find themselves a wildcard slot because of their easy season.sstuckey wrote:Incidentally, if the season ended today....Both Baltimore and Cincinnati (6-3) would still be wildcard teams. Both of those loses to sub par teams came after their games with the Steelers. A possible explanation is that they blew out emotionally after beating the Steelers, and/or the Steelers beat them physically in those games and they had nothing left for the next week.sstuckey wrote: I sometimes wonder if this person watches the same games I do. Actually Don if the season ended today.....three teams from both the AFC and NFC North would be making a playoff appearance. Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Cincinnati.....and then Green Bay, Detroit, and my beloved Chicago Bears!Don Hughes wrote:Wouldn't that be something... Three teams from one division making the playoffs.

Me too. One of the few games they came out passing rather than establishing a running game first..their usual modus operandi. i loved it, and was working beautifully. then they sit on that lead (like they always do) by keeping it on the ground. BUT THEY HADN'T ESTABLISHED THE RUNNING GAME up to now! "No No Too much time on the clock i was screaming! If Flacco gets cranked up we're going to lose!"RobTheDrummer wrote:The Steelers pissed me off in the 4th quarter. Had a small lead and just stayed on it like they always do. Why in the world would you have two series in a row that go run run pass....deep in your territory, especially when the passing game was working for you? I was screaming at the tv.....
Guess what he got cranked up, we lost a game we should have won. Tomlin, what were you thinking?
