1. Can you tell me what the top selling album in UK chart history is?
2. As a bonus, can you tell me what the two albums that never left the UK top 200 charts are?

1. Queen Greatest Hits (Vol. 1)
I don't know the answer to number two.

I'm going to take a wild guess on number 2...is one of them either the White album or a Beatles album in general.

Yes, the answer to number one is Queen.
One of the bands in number two is Pink Floyd - The Dark Side Of The Moon. What is the other one? It isn't the Beatles.

I guess this was a little tough
Good job on getting the 1st one, Kevin.
The answer for number two is Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon and Meatloaf - Bat Out Of Hell.

Bat Out of Hell? Wow, I wouldn't have guessed that. Great question though, it was a real stumper.

These song and album charts all differ quite a bit. I once saw one that had the Wishbone Ash album Argus as the #2 UK album in 1972, and another as #1 in 1972. On the above chart, it is not in the top 20.

@ joe: It's all in the accepted standards, Joe. In the US, the chart standard is from Billboard for sales, and from Radio And Records Magazine (an industry mag) for radio airplay. In the UK, it's all governed by Melody Maker.
