Single coil sized humbucker....

Post by Chuxema »

Looking for a black single coil sized
humbucker for in a strat. Any ideas
on where to find one used that won't
break the bank?

Try the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickup. A friend of mine has one in his Strat and it sounds great.

Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

Which position do you want it for?

These are great for a hot bridge:

Its very similar to the aforementioned Duncan Hot Rails bridge which is also an excellent pickup.

The Dimarzio Chopper is good for bridge, but not very hot. It works well with these:

If you want mid/neck pickups with a "kind of" vintage bell tone, the Dimarzio FastTrack 1, Cruiser or Duncan Vintage Rails work nice.

The Dimarzio FastTrack 2 is one of the hottest pickups made and is a really good metal pickup for the bridge position.
