NFL

This has to be one of the greediest group of individuals on the planet. The owners and the players are fighting over who gets what cut, of a billion dollar industry, and neither side is willing to budge. But what about the "little people" that have nothing to do with this fight? There is ALOT of jobs on the line and these people need the money to pay for dinner and electricity, not trips to Milan or their fourth Mercedes.

I'm referring to the peanut vendors, the beer vendors, the ushers, the parking attendants, the announcers, the cheerleaders (especially the cheerleaders even though Chicago doesn't have any...boooooo!!!), the ticket vendors, the grounds keepers, the janitors, and the list goes on and on.

Just be happy you either get millions of dollars to play a game, or are lucky enough to have enough money to own a team. That kind of greediness has the potential to ruin ALOT of people's lives. Not to mention ruining a game I love and the only reason I even get out of bed on a Sunday!!!!

Sorry, the idea of no football just made me temporarily insane. I can only watch so many "top 10" re-runs on the NFL network...I need my football fix!!!

I hope Johnny doesn't see this thread.

As for what you said, I agree. I find it hard to understand why some one who catches a ball gets paid so much. But then if you look, all sports are like that.

Well Steve, if its any consolation, Pittsburgh doesn't have any cheerleaders either.

I wonder if they can manage to ruin the sport like baseball did?

Well, football players get paid what someone is willing to pay them. It's really that simple. It may be a "game," however, do you know anyone that's capable of being a pro football player?

I think you kinda missed the point of the post there Rob. The complaint wasn't about how much money the players make, it was more about the people that work for the NFL that don't put on the pads. They stand to lose their income and its a fight they aren't even involved with. But now that you mentioned it, I will admit I get a bit pissed when I hear a player complain that his 9.5 million dollar signing bonus isn't enough to support his family.

And Jeff that's my biggest fear. Baseball WAS my favorite sport until the strike of '94 I think was the year. They went on strike and I haven't cared about baseball since. Please, please, please don't kill football for me too!!!

Remember it is a lock-out, so it's not the players who are responsible for the stoppage.
