I'm thinking of a thief that might try to fill their "air tank" from mine with a siphon hose.. SUCK IN DEEP to get it startedlonewolf wrote:They said a "fillup" would cost around $2.faster pussycat wrote:Thats pretty cool but what's the cost of compressing the air? Everrything that acts on matter requires an energy cost...even compressing air costs $

From the little I've read on this, it may be the most promising technology available. Let's face it, plug-in cars still have a long way to go, they're way too expensive to buy and inconvenient. I still think they will be a factor in time, though.
I like this technology alot, if only for commuter-type transport, heavier transport will still need internal combustion, but every little bit helps. I'm also bullish on compressed natural gas. If they're going to rape PA's environment tax-free, the least we should get is some cheap energy. (Of course, it won't be cheap long. They'll find a way to unnaturally bump the price up, collusion beats competition every time in the business world.)

Have you heard about the Bakken Shale Oil Fields in the U.S.? Interesting read about oil reserves right here in the U.S.

A few years ago a guy came into Music Emporium, killing time. He said he was in town buying up gas leases because there was going to be a gas boom around here. He also said there's a huge gas reserve that we simply don't have the technology to harvest profitably yet, a bit below the Marcellus shale. According to this total stranger I met at a guitar shop, there's enough to supply the US for 100+ years, even at projected levels. He claimed that the tech will be there in less than a decade to get it, and there will be way more gas drilling locally, even on this side of the mountain. Obviously just hearsay, but interesting, nonetheless.
