UPDATE to Yamaha TRB-6P w/ LANE POORS

Post by MOONDOGGY »

The guy that committed to buy my Tune backed out at the last second. Supposed to meet him to do the exchange and 10 minutes before I leave, I get an "I'm sorry dude" text. So, I'm putting both of these back up for sale. Whichever one sells, I'll keep the other.

I have a 1st gen Yamaha TRB-6P. It comes with the OHSC, stock pickups, a set of Bartolini slim Js, and a pair of LANE POOR YAM6 p/ups! The cream of the crop!

I also have a rare '92 Japanese Tune Zi-II. Japanese Tunes are NOT to be confused with Korean Tunes. Japanese Tunes are not carried by US distributors as they are not an import bass. They are a high-end boutique bass for the Japanese market. This one has an Ash core with rosewood top and back. The 4-pc maple neck is a thing of beauty. It's in excellent condition and is all original except for a Bartolini NTMB preamp.

If you want any specs or details on construction, feel, or tone, let me know. Please do some research and know what you're buying BEFORE committing unlike the last coward. Ugh. Then we'll talk price.

Thanks RP.

I haven't found anybody here in Ohio, but that's mainly due to me not really looking! I was in the original hard rock/metal band Naildriver before I moved to Ohio. My fingers have been itching to find some people to jam with or get some sort of project going with here in Ohio. But, since my basses don't get any play time other than a few minutes a day in my house, I figure I don't need two 6 strings. And like everyone else, I could really use the cash! Wifey needs a newer car!

Dan,

Good luck on this, I just got a great deal on a Ken Smith 6. If the Yamaha would of had soapbars on it I would have jumped at it. Lane Poors are great just wasn't looking for the Jazz bass vibe.

Dude, I'd love to try out the Smith. I've been wanting one for a long time and I've been told they're tone monsters. But I've never found out for myself. Did you get an NT or BO model? Email me pics!!!

Ok RP, stuff has gotta sell. I'm hurting already for Christmas money. I have some interest in the Tune, but none in the Yamaha. And if I had to choose, I'd rather keep the Tune. So, in order to move the Yamaha, I'm lowering it to the point where it hurts. I want it gone!

$1400 w/ hard case, original p/ups, and a set of Bartlini p/ups.

If you want this bass stock and don't want the Barts or LPs, I'll hook them back up for you and knock a good chunk of change off the price.
