What'd ya get, anything cool?

Post by songsmith »

Merry Christmas, and Happy Harmonica to all my Jewish friends! Anybody get any cool music-related goodies? I got a spiffy MP3 player, an Ultimate Support keyboard stand, Warren Haynes Live at Bonnaroo, and a "Support Local Music- Sleep With A Musician" T-shirt, along with the ubiquitous socks and underwear and the Family Guy DVD box set. How 'bout you?---->JMS

A mini-cassette recorder for interviewing bands (Thanks Scream!), the new Anna Kournikova calendar (for band guests on the "Backyard Rocker" to ogle in 2005), and for all those post-gig munchies, several Sheetz gift cards. Also a Judas Priest Prisoners Of Pain best-of CD.

I finally found a replacement for Kenny. Don't have to pay him, don't have to hear any feedback, don't have to worry whether he's going to show up for a gig. *LOL* J/K My sweetheart got me a Boss RC-20XL Phrase Recorder. Instead of skipping over solos, I'm going to be able to record stuff in real time and solo over it. I can't wait to try it out. ;) 8) :D :o :P :?

Believe me, I know. My oldest daughter is 10, and while it's cool, there's just something about watching the little kids that kicks ass. :)

A Dremel w/ router attachment, the Cold Tip soldering gun (as good as can be expected from an 'as seen on TV' ad), a set of heavy-duty multi-tool pliers and knife, a bunch of glow sticks (go to one of Maddogkool's shows and you'lll see!), Primus live DVD (it is even weirder seeing them!), John 5's 'Vertigo album is being ordered, and a bunch of dressy poser clothes from the girlfriend. Does anyone else's girlfriend/wife want them to dress like all of the other preppy posers out there???
.

All kinetic, no potential.

I got a PS2 with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Final Fantasy XI Online for PS2, an extra controller, PS2 keyboard, Nintendo DS with Madden 2005, Final Fantasy 1&2: Dawn of Souls for Gameboy Advance, Castlevania for Gameboy Advance, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 for Gamecube (Yeah, I'm a Turtle freak from way back), Strategy Guides for FF1&2 and GTA: San Andreas, This is Spinal Tap on DVD, Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison on DVD, Steelers hoody and hockey-style jersey, A Plaxico Burress authentic jersey, and various day job work clothes. Quick power trip back to the homestead....arrived Dec 24 (late), left Dec 28 (early)

The best present I got was the hangover I received from all of my close friends and family. Enjoying everyone's company was the best thing I could've asked for. Although it's so hard to leave, I feel so refreshed from the trip. Cool Stuff....

MXL 990/992 Condensor Package
An Open Jet-Blue Ticket
Some Gift Cards
Soundgarden "A-Sides" (I wish it had Kickstand on it though!)
A Tabletop Gong (Thanks Freddy!)
Drinking Checkers
Buffett's new book
New Flip Flops
Tombstone Directors Cut DVD

Cookies. More cookies. Leather jacket & riding gloves. Sweaters, socks & underwear.

Oh yeah, a Steelers Calendar with some guy with a number 8 on the cover.

However;

Finally sold the real estate project on the 19th and won the eBay bid on a mint Mesa Boogie Triaxis yesterday. Will be running it thru a M/B 2020 to a pair of 1984 M/B roadready 1-12" thiele cabs with celestions.

I'm not sure if I have a complete favorite. Now, the reasoning behind christmas is more than presents, but I would be lying if I didn't say the potential to have stuff...and the possibility of it being cool stuff...just for me... lots of it... well.. yeah, i love that part of christmas too. I don't want to say that it was a let down at all. I got some cool things, but, this year was just... lacking? Most of the things I got I had either picked out or saw previously. I got a c harp and a book explaining how the damn things work. I got a DS gameboy and game. A necklace from my gram. Clothes. Socks. No gutchies!!!! and two Dvds. Another memory card for my camera (score!). I honestly think I got a bigger kick out of the other people opening my gifts to them than vice versa.
Well, with the exception of the "wandering shirt" and the "hypnotic shirt"....

....and of course... it's all cool because i got Star Wars!

I got a lot of cool stuff. But, what would interest most of you would be a new case for my Kramer (because I accidently stepped on it's old case) and my wife found me an AWESOME accesory to use when gigging - just attach it to the mic stand - check it out at this link:

I got the new Iron Maiden DVD "The Early Years"
A definite must have for any Maiden Fan.
For $20 you get 4 live shows live at the Ruskin 1981,Killers Tour,Beast over Hammersmith, and the World Piece tour. plus tons of extras, videos, old British TV outtakes and even Top of the Pops performances.
All topped off with a great documentary starting from the very beginning.
Lots of ex members and pre first album stuff.
This is hands down the most killer DVD I have seen from any band.
