I just broke this cd out again. Haven't listened to it in a long time (I usually opt for the Unplugged album or one of the Box set discs.)
I forgot how good this album is, just wanted to know if anyone else had an opinion on it. The drumming is pretty out there on a lot of songs. Any drummer opinions on Kinney as a drummer?
I remember in one of my bands covering "Frogs" and the singer using the He-man Snake Mountain voice thingy into the microphone for vocal effect.

There are some awesome tunes on that album (and a few I could do without). I always liked Sludge Factory and Grind. I remember that one country (I think it was an Asian one) didn't allow the album to be sold, because they don't allow the solicitation of products featuring handicapped humans or animals. If I can remember correctly, AIC refused to censor the cover and decided not to sell the album there. If only more artists could stand-up for themselves like that when Shit(Wal)-Mart refuses to sell a CD because it has a few bad words on it.

Alice in Chains songs always have "hooks" in the choruses. The drummer always lays down great grooves. He has a great feel to his playing as well. Just a good solid approach and he plays to the song. The minor harmonies in the vocals are tough to pull off. Very unique and you know it's AIC when you hear that...too bad about the whole drug od and shit. Too many good people are ruined by drugs.
