This coming Friday Dougherty's in Johnstown will say goodbye to the music community. The upper bar (band bar) has already locked it's doors. The lower bar will be opened for one last time on Friday. For all of you bands who have played there - go have one last drink!
There will be no more bands as of now...PLCB, poor attendence, who knows why - we need to put and end to this routine of bars/clubs closing.
Another bar closes it's door...

I've always liked to see live music there and thats too bad. One of the better sounding rooms in town.
Back in the day I remember seeing night ranger play there.
Why because the bathrooms smell like a pasture.
Why because the stage has things on it that belong in a pasture.
Why because the carpeting looks like it came from a pasture.
Why because a new soundman is being broken in weekly
No mystery here
Hopfully if this is so someone will come along to take their place.

I agree, sad to hear about Dougherty's closing. I saw quite a few memorable shows there, and met a lot of Johnstown music scene folks for the first time in that place. Dougherty's is where I saw The Clarks for the first time (with Badwrench opening), Night Ranger, the 'Johnstown Jen' Memorial Benefit, other shows too. I always had a pretty good time there.
