I would rather see it decriminalized, without government regulation. It is just a common weed. I can pick yarrow and rose hips in my back yard and make a tea. No government is needed to regulate that. There is no government regulation of people who grow their own basil for cooking, and there should be no regulation or taxation of this weed.

i agree with abc in their findings . this whole prohibition is proven not to work. you can go to the liquer store and buy stuff that can kill you quick if you drink too much and kill you slow if you drink hard enough . also linked to violent behavior . i never heard of anyone dying from a gras overdose. the worst thing that can happen is one might eat a little too much and get tired . the whole law is outdated and absurd !!!!!!!!! so say i !!!

Re: tv
In 1974 when Blazing Saddles came out, Reefer Madness was the first movie that night, and I still laugh thinking about how at least 100 joints were lit up as soon as the lights went down and RF came on. What could they have done, arrested everyone there?
Same thing happened when The Last Waltz was shown. The first night was a big event and the movie theater in Scranton was packed (a very large theater much like the Misler). Soon as the lights went down, practically everyone lit up something. It was so smokey for a while, it was hard seeing the screen.

Legalized under President Carter, and there is a limit, but who makes like 200 gallons of wine or beer for personal use?Flaw wrote:you can make your own wine and the government doesn't tax you there.
You can also make distilled alcohol, but only for fuel. You have to buy a permit, denature it all, and be susceptible to inspections from the govt.
Just watched Misterytrain's Youtube vid about "Reefer Madness" and I thought I'd remind everyone that the whole marijuiana mess was caused by an Altoona native by the name of "Harry Anslinger." He's big in the history books. He's the one that got the "Marijuania Tax Stamp Act" passed around 1936 and got it enacted for all the "wrong reasons". Don't believe me? Take a couple of minutes and read about it below.

All the lies
I believe we are seeing the end days of prohibition. Support for legalization is at an all-time high (no pun intended).
That being said, there are still refeer madness commercials today. No one believes them but they still try to push the same type of bullshit as in 1937.
The worse thing is that none of those prohibition thugs will ever have to answer or justify the awful things they have done to innocent people.

According to the book "Botany of Desire" the trend of indoor cultivation of marijuana (which arose from the War on Drugs, particularly heightened overhead survaillance of marijuana plants growing) is what has produced marijuana with much more concentrated THC than years past (due to pruning and concentrated light sources). I would also guess that by forcing growing indoors there is more marijuana cultivated than when we (oops did I say 'we' ?) grew it outside. This is one of the many ways the War on Drugs has been a huge inefficient waste of money as far as what they were trying to accomplish.
