Ok the one thing we all agree is that the PLCB sucks. But, one thing that I did see is that most of the post is about altoona bars and clubs getting hit hard. How come I never see the PLCB shutting down a bar in Johnstown. If they did no one makes a big deal about it up here. I go out every weekend (like jp) to see LIVE MUSIC but I have never seen or herd about the PLCB shutting down a place in Johnstown. Now someone is going to bring up Shooter's in Johnstown. That is a DJ bar ONLY I hardly ever see a band playing there. They did get shut down for a few days and fined but who cares. They are not good enough for live music so let him stay closed. But, back to the main thing I dont see to many PLCB in Johnstown and I am very happy about that. Has anybody recently seen the PLCB shut a place in Johnstown??? If not, that should be more reason for more bands to come up here and play!!! Right
I know the metal chick is out there for me

It's quite possible that enforcement of noise laws might be happening heavier in some locales than in others. Altoona and surrounding areas have been hit hard recently, but I have heard of other communities being hit hard at various times in recent years.
I haven't heard of Johnstown clubs being busted outside of Shooters myself, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it hasn't happened or won't happen. If the state police decide they want to go on an enforcement witchhunt to find places in violation for noise, it could happen in Johnstown as well as anywhere else.
The bottom line is that as long as the Liquor Code presently prohibits any loudspeaker from being heard outside a licensed establishment, any venue in any town is fair game if the state police in that area want to go on a noise enforcement feeding frenzy. That's why the Liquor Code needs to be changed; so venues, bands and sound people have a tangible decibel limit they can work to comply with to avoid these random busts.
