It has been a while since we had a weed thread
I will try not to do my best Joe Cocker imitation on stage if a spasm hits. Fortunately, I have never had one on stage. There are times where I have to put the mic on the mic stand and sing because my hands cramp up tighter than a German virgin's honey pot.RamRod 1 wrote:Sorry to hear about your fibromyalgia. I just looked it up on wikipedia and it told about muscle pain and spasms. Pot is suppose to work for spasms in MS patients. Maybe you would be eligible.
Im 45 and at my age, I should be able to get outta bed without sounding like someone trompin through the woods during autumn. I'm the next spokesman for Rice Krispies.
That way I can smoke a bowl, eat a bowl of Froot Loops and things are right with the world.
Having talent is one thing....what you do with it is something else

I was diagnosed with that a few years before an MRI showed C5/6 & C6/7 disc herniations.
Edit: Early February, 2010 MRI confirmed a third herniation at C4/5. I still wonder if it is neck causing the numbness & pain in my arms, et cetera. Drs. have said the stiffness in my upper back is due to muscle spasm.
With constant pain and very few nights of Stage 4 sleep due to Fibromyalgia OR Osteo and Psoriatic Arthritis in neck, back, knee and feet, Vasculitis and a few other itises,
my upper back in near constant muscle spasm (unless Comfortably Numb) I am fairly certain I would qualify for Medical MJ no problemo. C'mon PA!

Measures to tax and regulate marijuana have emerged in California, Washington, and New Hamphire. Takes a lot of guts for a legistrator to sponser something like that. If you support it, click on the link below and thank them. They need the support.

I thought this was interesting. Pretty heavy for Pa. Some of it sounds serious.

I feel your pain. FM sux from those I have observed who suffer from it... one of my sisters, a band mate, and a few friends. I suffer from neuropathy (A disease or an abnormality of the nervous system, especially one affecting the cranial or spinal nerves). My docs best descriptions are that "it is like FM on steroids" - as in many times the pain, stiffness and weakness." All I know is that it sux 24/7/365.joltinjeff wrote:I hope they pass it, which they probably won't, but I think my fibermyalga could possibly qualify me for "medical" weed. It beats feeling the swelling of my hands and feet, the sense of being tired all the time and the rampant thoughts of suicide. Which all of these are side effects of that wonderful drug LYRICA. Im on 100 mg. My wife who is an LPN and works in a long term care facilty that the most they give out is 60 mg.
Go figure.... I WANT MEDICAL MARIJUANA!!!
Lyrica is quite possibly a risky drug. I had more than a few side effects from it for the 1st 6 months. Most diminished over time but the ones that hang around are a bitch to deal with. OTOH, without it I am next to useless. So I take it... 150 mgs twice a day, every day.
At my age I'm not much on the hooch but it's not like I'm above it, against it or that I will never do it again. I torched a fuggin boatload of it back in the day... My share, your share, enough to get a large town wasted. It's just not a priority in my life these days. But I can say, without a doubt, the very few times I did it, it did help out quite a bit with the pain.
I'm all for legalizing it, period. Fuck decriminalizing it. Go all the way. Sell it at state run liquor stores, etc. I mean WTF! They allow us to buy ciggs which are horrible for your health. Let those who are of age and wish to light up do so without worrying about getting cuffed. The state could apply a "sin tax" to it like beer, wine, liquor and ciggs. Hell, they'd actually MAKE money. And we'd be a lot more mellow for the most part.
Marijuahoochie is like the ultimate chill pill. Case - I know of no one who got a speeding ticket while being all smoked up. If anything, they're more likely to go under the speed limit..... slow down, crank up the tunes and enjoy the ride!
That's my $2.50 worth on the subject.
