Cover Tunes

Post by GUITARII »

I'm always scanning the dial for tunes to play when we're out, always looking for that tune that no one is really playing but has one of those Hooks that always get people on the floor or has them saying "Damn... i can't believe they played that song! I haven't heard that one in a long time!"

Soooooo........ What song is it you wanna hear RockPage? Seriously.... what songs do you often wish someone would play when you're out?

Oh My God!!!

Of course the first answer had to be FREEBIRD!!!

I wish someone would finally let that bird go free (kind of like a friend of mine that said: "I'll be grateful when their dead")

What the fuck?!?

Let me reiterate that I am the MOST ACCIDENT PRONE person I know! Trust me, one time through at rehearsal, and I'd be peeing sitting down from then on! I wonder how it would sound if I played it on a nice hedge trimmer or something... you know, something with some kind of protective guard on it. I can hear it now-- "... I'm your gardener, now babaaayy!!" -------->JMS

I believe Fisher Price makes a chainsaw, maybe that might be the way to go, and worth even more laughs! Or how about this?

When we (Stix and Stones) opened for Jackyl at The Crowbar, Jessie cut up a wooden stool with a real chainsaw and lit it on fire. He caught the carpet on fire on the stage. Awsome show. Got to hang out with them for an hour or so after the show.

I love to see a band play any Tool song other than Sober, any Evanescence song other than BMTL (preferably Going Under) and anything by Slipknot. Not exactly dance music but I'd still love to see it. I heard Rennis played Slipknot at Metalfest at the Castle. Damn, I missed it. I think a soundman who has mixed alot of bands would be a good person to ask for advise about covers. As a soundman, I have seen all kinds of bands play all kinds of songs and I probably could compile a list of songs I've seen crowds react most to. Sorry peeps, I'm trying to delete that first post and I can't.
