911
3 years tommorow. Sometimes it seems like a bad dream. Sometimes it seems like it happened yesterday. When u put in to perspective, a bunch of fuckheads got into planes with the sole intention of hurting a lot of people. And thats what happened. I remember heading towards Hagerstown, MD that day to deliver tires, when the first tower was struck, then the second, and hearing Howard Stern talk about the impending damage they could see. I remember seeing police cruisers everwhere along route 70 and seeing other motorists such as myself continuously looking into the sky. I had no contact with my store and every radio station host was speculating and false reports were coming in about planes crashing into Camp David and various other places. Then I heard the report about the landing in Somerset county, where I would later pass that day coming up 30 West. I remember crying that night as I watched all the the massive carnage on TV, and as I thought about the smoke I saw coming out of that field and the helicopters flying around. I was lucky. I did not lose any loved ones in this horrific tragedy, which I believe is better suited mass murder, and as I checked in with my loved ones, I remember wondering what Sept 12th would bring.
I dont give a shit about money policies at bars, or presidential races at this time. Enough about all of that for at least a day or two.
If u perceive that today is your darkest hour, perhaps tommorow u can find the beacon of light.
I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to those who lost loved ones, friends, etc. I would also like to send a shout out to the troops that are stationed all over the world, that you are not forgotten.

Everyone wants to go to heaven but noone wants to die
I was in second period in my Chemistry class when it happened. In third period someone said something about a plane going into a building. After awhile we turned the tv on and watched. I still can't believe what happened. In fourth period, my gym period, the school issued a lockdown so we sat in the gymnasium all day and watched footage.
God bless america.
God bless america.
9/11/01 started out as many other days in my long career at Johnstown Wire Tech. The rest of the day is embedded in my memory where it will remain forever as Im sure it will with all of you. I was scheduled to work 3-11 that day so I got up a little early so I could run some errands and enjoy some of the nice weather on my motorcycle. As I was getting ready to leave my house to open the gym that my sister and I own, the phone rang, it was my sister. She saw what was happening on the news and called me immediately to see if I knew, I didn't. I could tell something was wrong when she asked me what I was doing and If I heard. When she told me to turn on the TV the first thing I saw was the south tower of the trade center falling, I was shocked staring at the TV. I did leave my house after realizing what was transpiring, but I was a nervous wondering if I should or not. I can't explain the eerie feeling riding down the road, things just didn't seem right, I kept glancing at the sky. When I got to downtown Johnstown it was apparent that everyone knew and businesses were closing their doors. I remember sitting at a stop light and seeing people running out of various businesses and restaurants to their cars, things just weren't right. I prayed for so many things that day, and continue to do so now, hoping that the families of all the lost are dealing as best they can. God bless them all.
I remember it too just like it was yesterday...I was fighting with my kids both of my boys would not goto school....they fought me tooth and nail...Caught my middle son sitting on the front porch...I was talking to my aunt about getting these guys to school while waiting for the morning show to be over so I could watch Regis and Kelly and my aunt said I gotta go a plane just hit the WTC, I said ok and looked up just in time to see the second plan circling and smash into the other tower....It was soooooo unreal like I was not really seeing what I just did I couldnt have....And as my whole family sat watching it I looked at my kids and balled, for all those who just lost what I was looking at...My family....Then the plane went down not far from here and I thought OMG thank god my children hadnt been in school and they did stay home they were lil they wouldnt have known what was going on and and that plane 20 minutes later could have crashed here....I watched the news for days and cried for all those who were lost even took my Wiccan butt to church on the day the president asked us too...It was so close to us and sooo horrible we never thought we could be touched and there we all were shocked like omg how could this happen...I since then have met a woman who was there that day worked in the WTC and lost her husband that day....I cant ever imagine the pain and terror she went thru but I know that I will never ever forget what I have here with me, it certainly was a day the whole Country thought and came together as one....
Blessed Be to all of those 9/11 effected and still effects

I too will never forget!! But, I will not here put down my memories or feelings.
If you truly believe that today has nothing to do with the presidential race - than you really have no clue about the world we live in!!
I am sooooooooooooooo thankful that Bush "won". I can't even imagine what our world would be like with Gore in charge. And, God help us all if Bush doesn't win again!!! I really don't want anymore of our innocent Americans falling to the hands of terrorism!!!
God bless this country, God Bless our President, God bless America and God bless us all!!

I'm glad I didn't have to fight in a war, I'm glad I didn't get killed or kill somebody, I hope my kids enjoy the same lack of manhood
I'll never forget that day. I was at Seven Springs in Somerset county building lockers for the new ski lodge we just helped build. I couldn't begin to tell you how confused and scared I was that day. The one plane crash was only a few miles away from us. They closed down the highway so we weren't allowed to go home for lots of hours. Things got real crazy at Seven Springs the next few days. The security there was super tight. The police and the FBI were staying at the Seven Springs hotel. They were everywhere! They had the whole top floor of the ski lodge set up like some kind of headquarters. All the windows were covered with plastic or rolls of paper so no one could see in. None of us were allowed anywhere near the top floor and we all had to be on a list of allowed people at the ski lodge. My family was so glad to see me that day.
I remember my older brother jostling me awake that morning, telling me that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. I haphazardly made my way to the kitchen, thinking either it was just an accident (like the WWII bomber that slammed into the Empire State Building in the 40's), or some nutcase in a small plane. I got to the television just as the second jet hit the other tower. I then realized these weren't accidents, just as word broke about the jet striking the Pentagon. I was numb and dumbfounded. The news of a plane crash in Somerset County broke, and then one, and then both, towers collapsed. I remember the feelings of shock, vulnerability and then insecurity, as I realized that not only had our country been attacked, but had been attacked close to my own backyard. As I ventured outside to get the mail, I looked to the sky, wondering what was next. Later that day, I arrived at Q94, and televisions were on and everybody was in a state of shock. We struggled that afternoon to find the right things to say on the air, as we worked to update the story as more details came in.
When that whole calamity started, I popped a tape in the VCR and proceeded to record 18 hours of coverage that day. Sometime today, I plan to play one of those tapes, not just to remember what happened, but to remember my initial shock and disgust over it. 9/11 was this generation’s Pearl Harbor, only worse. We must never forget…

I vividly remember being in school at CLN Altoona. We heard rumors in class, so everyone (in the building) got on the net at the same time trying to find out information. The net was so clogged it was unreal. We ended up watching the 2nd plane on a small black & white TV with fuzzy reception. I left to try to get ahold of my younger sister, who lives in NYC. Of course, all the phone lines were down. I called my mom, who at the time lived in Wisconsin. She had no idea what was going on, and my dad was out golfing.
I did get an email from my sis about 4 days after the attacks, she had suffered cuts, bruises, and a broken leg, but thank God she was alive.
I'm taking some time out today to pause and remember, especially for the NYFD and NYPD, rescue workers, and all the troops who are deployed fighting. God Bless America.

Dood...
Like JP , I too turned on the TV just to see the second plane hit. I was at work,a nd we gathered everyone around a small tv, and then it hit. I looked around the room at the shock and terror on everyone faces... the second surreal moment of many for that day. We had a recent high-school grad working there that day, he started college the very next day... He's very straight-laced, and to hear him exclaim, "Those Motherf*ckers!" in front of his entire management was nearly as shocking. I told him he would remember this moment for the rest of his life, as I remember the Challenger disaster, and my parents recall the JFK assassination. Since then this has become the most documented disaster in human history, and will likely live on like Pearl Harbor, perhaps more so, because we could SEE it, not just hear it.
I spoke with some people who were touring the Johnstown Airport at the time the plane went down in Somerset, and they had a visual contact with the plane from the tower until shortly before it went down (mountains obscured the crash, because the plane was at about 500 feet). Can you imagine their horror?
I think America was altered forever. For all the food we send to third world countries, for all the medicine we give away, for all the disaster relief we provide, for liberating untold millions from madmen leaders, for technology that gives everyone a better quality of life, for all our contributions to humanity, we are not seen as benefactors or saviours. We are seen as lazy, and shallow, and egocentric users of resources. We give more than an inch, and they take a mile. Perhaps we should simply give those against us the seperatism they seek. Let these third world countries stay third world. Let their children die of disease and starvation. Let the droughts and typhoons and earthquakes take their human and infrastructural toll. Let men swing absolute power over the lives of their citizens, killing and raping and robbing them clean. Let deserts stay deserts, let them poison themselves, bomb themselves, "ethnically cleanse" themselves. Screw 'em. I have what I need. I use my brains and brawn to get what I want. Hell, I live in the most successful empire humanity has ever wrought, based on the idea that I can do whatever I want if I just WORK HARD ENOUGH. I can do that. I don't feel a need to drive airplanes into buildings or blow up Russian schools full of kids... it doesn't take a strategic genius to come up with shit like that, just a pussy who kills long-distance. Osama wouldn't last a minute with some of my friends. Redneck coal-miners, railroaders, timbercutters, farmers... those are really dangerous men, not pussies. Coal miners go to a hole in the ground to feed their families, not to hide like a mouse. America isn't soft. We're smart.
I've rambled enough. The god I'd pray to wouldn't kill children. He'd shed his grace on thee.------>JMS
