what piece of gear do you wish you still had?

Post by metalchurch »

I'm sure we all sell or trade off something and then inevitably regret doing so later on. It could be your first instrument, or even a rare item or something lost in a fire or stolen.
And you ever notice that you can almost never find another one just like it?!! It must be one of life's cruelties, but why is that? :(

I sometimes look back and think about things I've had and wish that I still had it.
My #1 regret is my lefthanded 1987 Charvel Model 3 in Snow White.

It was nothing special really, and certainly not a collectible guitar, but it had an awesome tone, and it is somewhat rare and hard to find in a lefty.
I sold it to buy an ESP V250 about 2 years ago, and you know I haven't seen another one since then on ebay or anywhere else. LOL :D
That's just my luck.

Anyone else have regrets about something?
Please share your story.
Thanks
Joe

My Mesa Boogie Studio .22+ that I sold to Ron on here. That little amp was a great practice amp and great sounding. " oh well, you'll have that "

An old '66 Fender Princeton Blackface. It was post CBS, but it was still made when Leo played through every amp that left the assembly line.
And I love the .22+.
... and then the wheel fell off.

I miss two things that I have sold. I miss my Orange 4x12 cab and I miss my black '95 PRS CE-22.

I'd give a pinky toe to get back my Flame Maple and Purpleheart Lado Studio 604 bass and my Armen Pete VI fretless bass.

I wouldn't mind owning Kent's blue Spector NSCR4FM again either!

I miss my Trace Elliot GP7SM... I never knew how great that amp sounded way back then. Probably because I couldn't play for !@#$ back then either. At least now I know some licks to make it sound like I know what I'm doing :)

I also miss the ibanez 4-string (I have no idea what model or anything, didn't care back then) I bought off a junky when I was younger. I guess to some people a fix is worth more than their bass.

You guys should just trade basses for a while and play them for a few weeks.
Kinda like a 'key party' in the 70's where swingers would wife swap and shit

What? I wouldn't play Kent's bass! He licks it and rumor has it that he spoons with it.

I miss my '79 Ric 4001.

1962 Fender Stratocaster hardtail with original case.
1962 Ampeg Reverb-o-rocket.

I sold both items to Tom Johnson of "Stillwater" fame. I need my balls kicked in.

Marshall 30 watt "artiste" head and 410 cab.
I boot myself in the ass every day over that.
I needed beer money at the time.
"well, why don't you make ten louder and just have that be the loudest one?"

".....but these go to eleven!"

Remind me to kick you once, stratobastard.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.

Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, 'cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

At some point or another...I miss every piece of gear I ever had. Everything from the 2 ton log(old JB Player bass) to the Peavey Mark 4 head.

A little piece of me already misses the G-K, mostly since it was lighter than the Mesa.

All have fallen by the wayside in search of "the tone." Maybe someday I'll replace them.
