Uriah Heep Wake The Sleeper

Post by witchhunt »

Just got it and heard about 80% of it. If you're a fan of classic Heep, I'm pretty sure you'll like this. I think Mick Box is the only old time member left. The singer sounds a lot like Byron. Give it a try.

I always liked the Heep. I saw them back in the day, in Johnstown. A new band opened up for them - Bachman Turner Overdrive. :D

Man...I can't believe Heep is still around! LOL! "Demons And Wizards" was a great album. I think my favorite album is probably "The Magician's Birthday"...wouldn't it be fun to bust that song out on stage some night just for the hell of it? Hell...I'd even play the goddamn kazoo! :D Also always loved "Tales". Gorgeous song.

Gonna check out this new album...

I saw Uriah Heep in Johnstown in 1973. The opening band was ZZ Top but I missed them because I had to work. Uriah Heep put on a great show back then. My friends said ZZ Top was terrific.

I saw them in 73 also. Atlantic Rhythm Section and Blue Oyster Cult opened for them. It was one great show.

The new Heep album isn't bad, has the classic sound, yet fresh. I don't think anything off of it will go down as classic, but a good album nonetheless. I especially like the intro/title track.

Magician's Birthday... heck yeah, damn good one! Great ballad with "Rain" off that one too. My favorite Uriah Heep album has to be the US release of their first album, the self titled one with the better version of Bird of Prey on it, NOT "Very 'eavy Very 'umble", although "Lucy Blues" isn't a bad song either!

'tis a shame that the only Heep you hear on the radio is Easy Livin' and Stealin'.

Yea, that is a major shame. It would be nice if the radio people could open their minds a little and play songs other than what's already been beaten to death over and over since the dawn of time, but that would mean they'd have to...to...oh, sweet mercy, dare I say it?

They'd have to CHANGE!!! AAIIEEEE!!!! :o :o :o

Whew! Thank goodness we'll never have to worry about THAT happening! A change that humongous could rip open the fabric of space/time and kill us all!

...we fear change...we cannot think outside the box...outside the box is the unknown...we fear the unknown...for our testicles have long since shriveled and dried to useless little chickpeas. Now...let's hear Easy Livin'...AGAIN!!! Mua ha ha haaa!!!

Actually, until recently one could've 'eard (as I did) "Sweet Lorraine", "Tales", even "The Magician's Birthday", etc., on a certain not to be mentioned radio station, played by none other than JP, at either a certain time M-F, or late Sunday nights. There's always 'ope for the future on Rocky 104.9! :D
