That's pretty cool! Did you meet the actors of that movie somewhere?alfred wrote:the night of the living dead 1969

Hey witchhunt, didnt you just go to some kind of movie thing where some actors from Hellraiser were? Monroeville I think wasn't it?
DraganKalasa was there too I think.
Do you collect memorabilia and stuff?

I agree the classics were the best in my opinion.CCdrums wrote:The original Frankenstein. It's not really scary, but Boris Karloff is so believable as the Frankenstein monster, it's really cool. Anything and everything that is George A. Romero a.k.a. Master of The Living Dead
1. Night of the Living Dead (also the 1991 remake)
2. Dawn of the Dead
3. Day of the Dead
4. Land of the Dead
5. Diary of the Dead (most recent )
I'm a sucker for zombie flicks, they are my all time favorite!!!
But, I would also recommend ANY Asian Horror flicks. They are BIGTIME into ghost and hauntings. Anything by the Pang brothers, those guys will scare the fuck right out of you and give you a whole different outlook on ghost. Like they (ghost) can hurt or even kill...spooky. Movies like, The Grudge, The Eye, and Shutter are all American remakes of really cool Asian horror movies. I highly recommend the latter, if you don't mind subtitles, you may be surprised. Those of you who never gave the genre a chance, do so....

Actually it was shot up in Beaver Falls,I drive past it everytime I go to my sister in laws place. It's pretty cool,my brother in law and his friends were up there when they shot the scenes. I will try to remember to take some photos the next time I go up.slackin@dabass wrote:i read it was all shot in an abandoned limestone mine near johnstown. i dunno. i just meant that you can't go under ground in florida, they don't even have basements down there. being ocean level will do that to ya!witchhunt wrote:Yeah, I read about the Nike Missile site in PA before but also read about all the filming done in Fla. Who knows?slackin@dabass wrote: just the abandoned city scenes were in florida, the rest was shot in PA. there really are no limestone mines in florida. i don't think they can in a state that's water level, no offense!

My faves are all George Romero's Zombie movies. Night of the Living Dead,Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead etc.
I really like Rob Zombies stuff too.
Cult Classics like Tombs of the Blind dead are cool too.
Cheesey but cool.
The original Psycho. The Exorcist. The Omen.
My fave newer movie is Texas Chainsaw Massacre "the beginning"
I haven't got out to the movies to see anything new lately.
It's hard to take them to see the grusome stuff I prefer.
I really like a lot of the movies you guys posted too.
There so many it's hard to choose.

I forgot about Strangeland! That needs to go on the list as does PoltergeistNaga wrote:The Shining, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Bram Stoker's The Mummy, Dee Snyder's Strangeland, the entire Nightmare On Elm Street series, the entire Friday The Thirteenth series (minus Jason X, that movie SUCKED!!!), the Hellraiser series, Vampire Hunter D, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (yes, 2 animes in that list, because they're both well designed for the list), the Saw series (haven't seen 4 yet), Halloween (both the old, and Rob Zombie's remake), and Hostel are a small list of some of my favorite horror movies. I also wanna add Dracula: Dead And Loving It into that list. It's not horror either, but it relates, and is HILARIOUS!!!
I'll probably have to find a bunch of old horror movies and watch them again for a refresher course though. I haven't seen the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre yet, and can't remember a damn thing about the original
and I already made darksoul watch some of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space with their wacky cotton candy guns...lol...god that movie was awful!!
Worth dying for. Worth killing for. Worth going to hell for. Amen.

As a horror movie collector I can't name any one favorite....Love "Wrong Turn" 1 and 2, "Hills Have Eyes" 1 and 2, "Jeepers Creepers"....And SAW is just so well thought up for a story line...I love about all the 80's B rated gore stuff.
I kinda live Halloween 365 days a year and am still trying to buy a haunted attaction. I was in Mich. in Dec looking to buy the number one rated attaction there and move it back but the deal didn't pan out...But I haven't gave up yet! Still my dream!

I forgot about The Omen... How did I forget that one???
Both the old and new versions of that movie are 2 of my all-time favorite movies. That's the only movie to this point that I'd read the book beforehand, and even though they miss a couple things from the book, they are both panned out in an AWESOME manner! The only thing I disliked about the new version of that movie was a death in the movie. I was HIGHLY disappointed in that, for multiple reasons. But, I still say the new movie gave a few extra touches to it, which made it all the better, IMHO

Clint, did you ever read the original "Frankenstein"? One of the scariest things I've ever read. It's a bit of a tough read at times because of the olde English, but Mary Shelley's original monster makes Karloff's character look like Tinky Winky.CCdrums wrote:The original Frankenstein. Shelley's Frankenstein is one of my favorites. I've used it as thematic material a couple of times for Lit. papers and once got invited to present one a big Penn State Literary conference. It always strikes me as odd that Karloff's Frank is the one so prominent in popular conception when Shelley's is sooo much scarier and full of depth. Our song "The Creature" is based upon some of the thematic elements of the novel, even though it's an instrumental. I can hear certain passages spoken during some of the parts and would like to find out what the copyright particulars are in order to be able to do that.Ron wrote:Clint, did you ever read the original "Frankenstein"?
