Update on Days of the New...if you're interested.

Post by JayBird »

So, I traveled out to Michigan this past Saturday for some Solegion support. Plus, I was interested in checking out DOTN. Wow...glad I was on the guestlist, cause if I had paid the $15 or $18 to see DOTN...I would have been upset at loss of money. THEY SUCK! Travis is still in bad shape. He looks like he's dying...face sunken in, bad hair, and just all around a mess. Also, he still thinks that everything is about him. He was yelling at all of his bandmates during soundcheck. Basically putting them down and commenting that if they can't get the song right, then they might want to soundcheck with another song. Then during the show...I swear Travis was doing his best to annoy the crowd. Most people thought that they had become an instrumental band. He jammed on his guitar for about 20+ minutes, then mad a simple...OHHHHHHH....YEAHHHHHH...then went right back into jamming on his guitar. Finally after the tiring beginning to their set, they went into a song. By then I had had enough and wanted to leave...and...we did. So, I know many of you didn't even know that DOTN was still together. Well they are, but don't waste your money seeing them. Travis shit the bed when he canned the three orginal members (who formed TANTRIC).

Sounds like beans were involved in Travis's demeanor.
It sucks when you pay to see a band and you get there all pumped up and they deliver a shitty performance at best.

Just pathetic. I loved that first album too. It sounds like the musicians who were playing with Travis were doing him a favor, not the other way around.

Yes Paul, I totally agree with you, and I'd like to rephrase what I initially said about "the band not delivering", in this case it appears that it was Travis who did not deliver, and the rest of the band was only there for the ride.

Well, at least Meeks didn't end up getting somewhere for nothing like Scott Stapp did. They're both douchebags on a whole level of their own. I still wanna see a Tantric/Alterbridge show some time

Maybe they could create a douchebag supergroup and release an album. They could ironically cover We are the World.

They could put together a group of the 3 douchbag tenors - Travis, Scott Stapp, and Axl Rose

But Stapp's a baritone....

Oh well, it's just a matter of semantics.

I always dug all three DOTN albums. I've seen them twice live and yes, he is an asshole. It's a shame he can't get his shit together, he is quite talented.

Interesting fact, the guys that left DOTN after the first album and formed Tantric are actually no longer with Tantric. The only original member of that band right now is the lead singer.

I really liked DOTN when they first came out. Then I read an interview with Meeks, and I haven't listened to them since. Tantric was a much better band, I think Meeks was going for an acoustic Alice in Chains band.
Pour me another one, cause I'll never find the silver lining in this cloud.
