BACKYARD ROCKER MILLENNIUM RECAP

Post by Jim Price »

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up - if you aren't checking out fireworks or are otherwise near a radio this Sunday night, check out the "Backyard Rocker" Millennium Music Conference Recap Special. It will recap last weekend's Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, including music from some of the showcasing bands/artists and sound clips from some of the panels and the keynote address. You'll hear some interesting information and stories - especially the abbreviated edition of Bill McGathy's keynote address. Bill is a promoter, and publicist who heads up McGathy Promotions, one of the biggest promotion companies in the music industry. He also oversees the careers of some of the biggest band names currently happening - Puddle of Mudd, Creed (R.I.P.), Three Doors Down and Chevelle. During the keynote segment, you'll hear Bill talk about his role in helping three of those bands break it big, with some surprises along the way. There's also information about the changing face of the music industry, and advice on how bands might want to proceed with the changing music industry climate. Check it out this Sunday from 8 to 10 on Q94, there's definitely some valuable information you can pick up on. (And I was at the station until 3 AM last night putting this thing together, so I hope somebody will check it out, lol!)
