I know man, he freakin' smokes. I have a recording, called Ying and Yang, that he did with Victor Wooten. Nitti and Wooten playing together in the same song, can you imagine that?RobTheDrummer wrote:Definitely Adam Nitti. Fudgo turned me on to him and he's simply amazing and yet, no one has ever heard of him.
Another agreement with Eddie Jackson from Queensryche. I love that groove he does on Della Brown. He makes me want to buy a Spector.
"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

I appreciate a good part of the 70's bass players because of their walking bass lines. To me, they had meaning and held a very important role within a song. Once the 80's came along, all a person had to do was learn how to hold the root note while a guitarist played a lick over it, bass lines became very boring.
Gene Simmons, Timothy B. Schmidt (sp?), Boston's bass player are a few that stand out to me off hand.
I'm not a bass player, but really appreciate great bass lines. I've had to play bass in a few bands in the past, but it was only because I was the younger guitar player and in order to do the gig, I had to jump on bass. I'm glad I did though.
