Hell yeah that's sweet. I think I saw you break that snare out one time at the Hitching Post. It was White Marine Pearl? Die Cast hoops? 6 1/2 by 14? That's one kick ass drum you got there bro.

Hmm... I had to see you play that drum at least once :? I remember seeing you play a white marine pearl snare with die cast hoops one night. Was that your drum too? Still a very sweet drum you got there. I still have my Pearl Steve Ferrone sig snare. 6 and a half by 14 nickel plated brass  24 carat plated hardware in some places  I don't think I'll ever sell that drum. Put an Aquarian Hi Energy and stand the hell back  PHATBACK  No soundman ever dared mic that snare :P

I remember that one now Red, i dont have it anymore. I probably sold it for crack! that Ferrone snare sounds killer, love to play it some time. Brass snares rock, I still have my Yamaha 6-14 brass, i think thats why im deaf..

Bill, i remember that night at Petes, i just got it and was trying it out. I still need an original strainer for it and some lugs that are broke. Your the man with the snare collection! Whats your oldest or fav one you have?

The oldest one I have is the Slingerland Super Sound King 5.5 x 14 COB. Late 1960s. It's the one we used on Thursday at the benefit. I also have an old Pearl , I think about the same age.

The snares I have all sound different . But I like all of them. Some of them have a wider tuning range and are more versatile, which means they'll get used more. But I have no particular favorite.

I have a 1961 Slingerland snare. I am not sure of the exact modle.

color - Blue sparkle
shell - 14" x 5.5" Wood ( not sure what type )
everything is original ( just missing the dampener )

I took it to Antiques Rode show last summer and all they told me was
" nice drum, cool color, But we don't know anything about drums "
Needless to say I was not to happy with there answer.
So if you all could help me out I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Steve
