I still don't understand why there even is a state of the union in any president's last year in office. I understand the concept and role, but it's not 1940 anymore. Last year bullshit regardless of what party it is.
Wasteful spending occurs no matter what party is in office. Take for example earmarks in the defense industry in Johnstown. There are projects still getting funding that are so far behind what is already fielded that it is sickening. And I'm not knocking or in favor or the representative of that district. It happens from the top all the way to the bottom.
We just need someone to point the finger at.
