no, he's not - but what's a rocker like Bret supposed to do? all he's done is play in bands his whole life. is he supposed to stop now and work at Walmart or something? like him or not, people are still packing the clubs and venues he plays, so I don't blame him for sticking with it for as long as he can.

He's just let himself become the butt of everyones joke.
Sorta what songsmith stated(Well exactly what he stated.)

He is to many people, what Flavor Flav is to you.

"They're not laughing with you, they're laughing at you" comes to mind.

If you are balding yes, please cut your hair.

Hair length has nothing to do with having some dignity.

He could play in a band.
He could do a reality show.

He could take some lessons from Uncle Ted Nugent. That dude is almost 60. Way more respectable though.

According to legend, he can't ditch the headband or the hats he wears because he is balding and that covers the area. And besides that, you can talk all kinds of shit about the guy, but he gets more trim than any one of us could combined. Trust me on that. We opened for the man and he could have had his pick of any women there.
What does me ripping on his headband have to do with how much trim this ween gets. Bottom line...white guys should not wear a band like that. Also, I'm very, very happy you got to open for the man. I hope he was generous enough to pass the rejected stock on to you.

Nope, you totally got my point. There's nothing wrong with getting older. It's just that it isn't 1986 anymore.

....then again, we had a opening band a few years ago in which the guitarist thought that it was still 1987 and it was still cool to have four Marshall cabinets stacked up behind him despite having full FOH PA support.

BTW, I LOLed at Johnny's post.

Wasn't all directed at your comment. Just didn't want to reply 2 or 3 times when I could say it all in one post. As far as getting the rejected lot, isn't my thing, but I'm sure the single people around the band would have appreciated it.

I have to say, in my own opinion, that 80's hair metal had a lot of really good spots. I love the guitar playing, the vocals, the talent overall in the bands that came from that era. As for the big hair, makeup, and spandex, i could have done without that and appreciated the music that was behind it.

You also have to remember that everything comes in phases, for instance, 20 years down the line from now (if i live that long) I will probably look back and be like "Why the fuck did i wear long hair, a gotee, and clothes that i bought with fucking holes in them". But, I won't care because it was the style. Shit, thats actually what i'll probably wear 20 years from now, you never know.

Bret doesn't look horrible for his age, and you can't blame him for wanting to look younger and act younger. If I was 40 some years old, i know i would try harder than hell to shave off as many years as possible, age in a good way, and try to look attractive. Another thing too, people in the media expect that of him, and if he is going to have this show, he has to provide that side of himself also. Fans at shows expect that of him as well, he has to provide that side of himself to them also.

If he shaved his head, grew a moustache and a beard, can you honestly tell me he will draw the crowd that he does? I don't believe he would, because people expect to see a "25 year old" bret michaels, not a 40 year old one.

Flava Flave on the other hand needs a reality check. He looks old, and he looks like a crack head. Polish a turd, its still a turd. He couldn't do anything to save himself at this point, even if he wanted to. He's only on that show to get 15 more minutes of fame. Bret could go back out on the road tomorrow and people would still follow him. Flave on the other hand, can't do jack shit because he's all whacked out on meth and senile at this stage in his life. Cliff diving without a parachute is his only salvation.

Ya gotta remember... Bret doesn't pick the girls for the show. VH1 does. And they're going for a specific stereotype. If anyone truly thinks Bret is doing this show looking for love... I got a bridge you might be interested in.

But I do agree on the topic of the hair. At the very least he should fess up that it's not all his. People prob wouldn't dog him as bad.

it's really a shame that they don't air some of these shows live. some of the girls probably don't really know much about him...and one could just rip the stupid cowboy hat or bandana off for her 15 minutes of fame and just leave.

that'd be semi-funny

...is there something I can say to the Nuge to get him to shoot DirtySanchez?

...Sanch, perhaps you could ask Dawn's dad to cut his hair?
