BTW, Did anybody see...

Post by witchhunt »

...the new Halloween? I thought it was a really good movie if you expected something different from Zombie. I liked the time he spent on young Michael. It made me feel really bad for the kid. Just think how many kids really grow up in that environment. Also, the body count was up. That's always a plus. Good soundtrack, too. Cooper's Only Women Bleed was a cool cut during the one murder. I'll give it a thumbs up.

I saw it.
I thought it was well done, even though I've never actually seen the original and therefore don't have anything to compare it to except for itself. Classic slasher film with more of an homage to "slasher film cheesiness" (or intential cheesiness) than cheesiness resulting from rushed and untalented writer, bad directors, and low budget actors who can't act. Something you'd expect from Rob Zombie, though, but very enjoyable .
But honestly, to compare Halloween to House of 1,000 Corpses, its obvious that he's really matured as a film maker.

And yeah, I second the soundtrack, especially the addition of Alice Cooper. But a friend of a friend who saw the movie pointed out the time ambiguity of the film even down to the KISS T-shirt that young michael was wearing being from -according to her- a recent tour. Anyone know if this was intentional or just a goof up by Zombie?

Just watched it the other night I was very impressed. Personally I think it's the best yet.

Michael was wearing a Destroyer t shirt. It was released in 1976. Notice the Kiss Army in the locker.

I still havent seen it, I've heard different opinions. And to be honest I'm a bit skeptical just because its directed by Rob Zombie, Devil's Rejects really didnt do it for me so I dunno, gonna have to see..

Maybe someone threw up in your photobucket when you weren't watching. :)
