Wing offs and GCTTM

Post by getclosertothemusic »

I have talked extensively to Barry Kupf at Lakemont Park about the sponsorship of the wing offs.
I have found out that a organization already has to be a established 501c3
organization, which we only have the PA state entity # only and working for the federal.
We are trying to work in scholarship, fellowships, and education grants for our organization.
To which we are drawing up correctly and is extensive pain in the butt
1 question with 11 parts with each part having to be answered with detail "novel" so to speak which all parts refer off the other.
Get one wrong and all are wrong....

But in the mean time as I was saying Mr. Kupf said with only 2 weeks left
we would not have enough time to benefit.
He told me to call him as soon as the 501c3 is final to call and we can get started with the sponsorship.
So....god willing, if everything works out and some other bigger organization does not step up in the mean time you just might see
GCTTM Wing-off next year....which means more music at the wing offs and maybe even 8 weeks instead of 6 and and and.....
well you get the idea.

That's a bummer there's so much crap you have to go through...it almost sounds as if one would need an attorney's guidance to properly fill out the 501c3.
Hope everything works out, and needless to say, GOOD LUCK!!!

Good job guys!!

Too bad you didn't get the non-profit designation earlier.. I personally believe the GCTTM cause is much better than the other contenders..

And not to start raining on your parade (the PLCB will take care of that) but I don't think the 6 weeks was an arbitrary number I believe it is limited by the temporary event license...

I know because every year I worked the wing off there is talk of an additional week and it always gets "ixnayed" hehe....
