Drummer looking for band
I am looking to form a band. I live in the broad top area and have a practice area it is not huge but big enough. I am even looking to jam with some new people. I will play any instrument and sing if need be. I do not really want to play country but I will play some older styles. I am NOT looking to...

I have a great kustom but it is only a 65 watt acoustic amp which you can use a distortion pedal but it does not have any effect on it. It sounds great with a distortion pedal as well my friend played his schector on it with his distortion pedal.I really do not know if that can harm it but I think i...

I've been down to Saxton, which I believe is at the southern tip of Raystown Lake, and it seems like an area where it would be difficult to put together a band. I don't imagine their are a lot of musicians down that way, but I could be wrong. Wish I could help you out. If I hear of anyone out that ...

Re: You posted
You first posted on October 26th and it is only the first of November. You need to have some patience and faith that what your doing is worth doing. People get a sense for confidence and it goes a long way. Hope it works out well for you. I was joking. I also posted about 3 of these in the last yea...

Looking for local musicians for local band
My name is blaine I play drums and I have semi formed a band near saxton pa. We really need to get this going. We are not going for covers that much. I would try to practice along with a metronome. Set it at 120 and play with it for a day or so, then go to 160, and play along with it. Train yourself to have good internal timing. I honestly believe this is the most important thing a percussionist can have, over chops, over flair, over everything....

Just keep playin and practicin. A steady tempo is sometimes hard to get, I've played with drummers who are unsteady and they get pissed when ya tell em a little faster/ a little slower. Sounds like you do have a background but not an extreme amount of time behind the kit so just keep doin it adn it...

I teach drums at Dp's Music in Lewistown, and all I can say is stick with it. Timing comes with practice and time. Like the guy above said Phil Rudd is a simple drummer and he is one of the best in the biz. The best type of drummers are pocket drummers. Keep practicing and things will come around. ...

It takes many things to be a good drummer. How you hold your sticks (grip) is important. I have seen two drummers play the same kit on the same night. We thought the sound of the kit was terrible until the other drummer sat in. He made the kit sound great. A good drummer can bring a good sound out ...
