Re: keyboard/vocalist looking for work

Are you interested in playing in State College (and practicing there about twice a month)?
pyder wrote:versed in most styles, can sing lead/harmony. Looking to play once a week if possible. No bad habits(!). Have played for over 25 yrs in bands local and on the road. Lots of stage presence and hard worker. :D

I know I've influenced my daughter, I have hundreds of pictures of her playing my drums when she was still in diapers, in my studio as a little girl singing Disney princess songs through my PA. She always loved when my bands played festivals and all-ages shows instead of bars, so she could come and ...

Remember Halestorm?

I'm gonna be in LA next week, and found out they'll be playing the Roxy with Bullets & Octane. I'ma catch the show and get some pics. Sheeesh...I can remember when they had to cancel shows in Central Peeyay because Arejay wasn't old enough to get in bars.

I think Steve makes some great points Lisa, especially in terms of recognizing where you are and where you draw your customers from. In some ways bars are like bands - if most bands are playing similar material, why do some have more of a following than others? If bars mostly do the same thing, why ...

I'm really digging it. I agree Giamatti is giving alot of depth to the character. Two things in particular that are subtly woven in are the puritanical backgrounds of alot of these historical figures (including Adams) and also the "politics" of it all. I think some of you are missing some ...

Some of my favorite songs are tunes I thought I absolutely hated (or just had no interest in) before playing them.

Alot of people on Rockpage spend way too much time defending their favorite genre by bashing everything else. Try broadening your horizons.

I wouldn't be too worried about her picking up bad habits at age 5. I'd say you have about 3 more years before you need to get her started on rudiments - right now I'd focus on just giving her the opportunity to build her natural rhythm and maybe just begin developing some "natural" indepe...

here's my quick 2 cents... 1. the Brewery in State College is still a supporter of struggling startups and original music...you just have to be willing to play on a week night - at least to start 2. MySpace is the single greatest thing to happen to local bands since the microphone. Use it to develop...

I can barely read music, and I'm not sure I could find Berkeley on a map, but I'm pretty sure I made more money as a musician last year than this douchebag. And I don't ...
