I am thinking of a song. This song came out in 1987. It was recorded by an Australian band and had, who is now, a world famous guitar player play on it. This guitar player was just starting out at the time. The song peaked at number 2 on the billboard hot 100 charts. Since then, he was used in countless commercials and covered by others.
Can you tell me the name of the band, the song and who the guitar player was?
This one is a little tough, so I will give you a hint - It was not AC/DC ... |

Good guess, Jotlin. But that is not what I am looking for.
Here is another hint - The guitar player is American .. _________________ ------ >> VH << ---- |

Well, since there was only one Aussie band that hit #2 in 1987...
Band: Crowded House
Song: "Don't Dream It's Over"
Guitarist: Well, both of the Finn brothers (Tim and Neil) played guitars on the record, but I wasn't aware that they were "world famous" in the sense of someone like Vai or Pettrucci. _________________ http://www.halftempted.net

It is Crowded house and it is "Don't dream it's over", but, it is not the Finn Brothers, they are from New Zeland. This guitar player was on the track, but he didn't play guitar - He sang back up vocals. I should have mentioned that part, sorry for the confusion ..
I will give you another hint - This guitarist played with Mick Jagger's touring band in the early 80's ... _________________ ------ >> VH << ---- |

It was Satriani, good job, Blain. You and Kevin get a can of beans with pork and hot dogs ..
The Stand was a great movie. Then, any movie from Stephen King is great.
I forgot about Vernon Reid - He is a great guitar player.
Here is the video for Don't Dream It's Over ...
