If you had to pick one to be the better overall band which one would it be?

This kinda a strange question to begin with.
Do you like Shure microphones or stainless steel guitar picks? _________________ Laugh if you want to, really is kinda funny, cause the world is a car and you're the crash test dummy. |

Yeah they were both blues influenced, innovators of metal.
Yeah, Apples and Oranges.

I agree with you my good man. There's very few Zeppelin songs that I like, but I like all Ozzy/Dio/Gillan era Sabbath.
My all time fav band ever.
It's kinda hard to compare them, yet since their early incarnation they have been compared to each other. |

zepplin... iommi was good, but zep had page... and plant... and bonham... and john paul jones... i mean... you got 4 dudes that pretty much kicked all sorts of ass on their instruments... but so did sabbath. geezer is one hell of a bass player. with the exception of NIB, he might have played relatively mild bass lines, but he was very solid. iommi was great and revolutionized guitar tones for his time, at least in my opinion. ozzy... well... i think lyricaly he left a little to be desired. although i love me some dio era sabbath. bill ward is one hell of a rock drummer. always played what needed to be done, never went overboard. exactly what anyone wants in a heavy rock band. at least for the first gen of sabbath, that's how i feel... ironic that it may seem... sabbath had many members... zepplin not. i kinda admire zepplin's decision when bonzo died to not carry the name on. they felt that if bonham wasn't on the throne, the band wouldn't be the same... i feel it wouldn't have been either.
but, that's all opinion. i love me some zepplin, but i do like sabbath, too. that's why i find it a little hard to vote on this... _________________ Can you identify a genital wart? |

I love both bands and it is comparing apples and oranges. It's like saying "Beatles or Rolling Stones" or "Pink Floyd or Rush"...
I think Zeppelin was consistent with the quality of material they put out throughout their entire career. Sabbath after Dio left...well...um...yeah.
