Hello everyone,

I'm happy to say that my studio is finally finished. As of now, I'm doing an introductory rate of 80 dollars per song mixed and mastered or $20/hr. Whichever is less. The studio is located in Huntingdon. I'll also be giving away some free studio time to the first two people/bands to respond (PM) to this ad. The ad below is a long list of studio features, but if you want, skim through to see what my studio can offer you and your band/project. I'll be posting pictures over the weekend.

There are a lot of studios around, and a lot of great engineers, but, of course, I'm going to try to convince you to record with me. If you keep reading, I think you'll see that I can offer some things that are unique to our area:

Let's start with the gear. I'm running a 3.2 gig quad core mac pro with 8 gigs of memory and a solid state drive as well as two terabytes of hard drives and a dvd-rw. This means recording with no hiccups and blazing speed for any plugins for however many simultaneous tracks you need (up to 24). My interface is an RME Fireface 800. This is the heart and soul of my recording setup. It sports some of the best digital audio conversion in the industry and is rock solid. I use Tannoy Reveals for studio monitors (Excellent mixing and mastering speakers) and a audiophile adcom GFA-535 amp to push them. This means that what you hear when we mix is what you'll get when you leave.

Next up are the mic preamps I use. Mic preamps are often overlooked, but they are key in getting the sounds you've heard on countless major label releases. A good preamp can make an average mic sound superb (you should hear a simple sm57 through a Neve or API!). My preamps come from amazing companies like seventh circle audio (millenia, neve, and api), groove tubes, FMR, RME, and Presonus. These allow you to get some of the best and most pristine recordings in the industry.

As for microphones, I have a decent mic locker with fair amount of variety. As of now, here is what I am packing:

Condensers:

JJ Audio modified mk-319 (SUPERB! Has won shootouts against famous Neumann Mics)

Modded Mk-219 (also very neumannesque)

2 Oktavamod (Matched set) MK-012s (Very much like Neuman KM84s, beautiful for drum overheads and acoustic instruments).

Sterling Audio ST-77 (larger than life on acoustic guitar!)

Cad M-179 (great all arounder)

Studio Projects C3 (very nice vocal mic)

My mic locker is constantly being updated.

Dynamic Mics:

Shure SM7b (one of the most versatile and amazing mics ever created--great on pretty much everything) Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, etc. have used this mic extensively for vocals. Lots of Rap artists use this mic.

Audix D-6 (very clicky kick drum mic for modern rock sounds)

2 ATM25s (A modern legend on kick and toms)

5 Shure sm-57s

As for studio recording gear, here is what I have in my arsenal:

Guitar Amps:

Fender Prosonic Amp (Mesa Style Hi-gain circuit, fantastic natural breakup on clean channel.)

Sovtek Mig-100 (modified to exact original JCM-800 circuit and specs by local amp repair guru Dave Sarge) Also has a really cool gain circuit custom designed by him that can be switched off and on giving you the choice of original JCM-800 or the later higher gain JCM-800 ciruits.

Fender '59 Bassman RI...Enough said.

Epiphone Valve JR Neat little five watter with excellent breakup qualities at lower volumes

B52 AT-100 (great sounding amp designed by a cat who left mesa)

Marshall 1960A Cab

Dr. Z styled Vintage 30 single cab. Can have open or closed back.

Guitars and Basses Electric/Acoustic:

Fender American with Lace Sensors (exact setup of Billy Corgan on Siamese Dream album)

Gibson Toni Iommi SG...One of the best SGs ever made. Similar to Angus Young model.

Ernie Ball/Musicman Stingray Bass

Deluxe Ovation Acoustic Electric

I have tons of cool guitar pedals like an analogman modded Tube screamer, ugly vintage russian small stone, etc.

Drums:

Vintage Yamaha Recording series Drumset w/ Zildjian Avedis and A custom cymbals. New Beat Hats. Acrolite/Blacrolite Snare (8 lug).

Roland TD-3 Kit with Superior Drummer (limitless possibilities)

Piano:

Yamaha 88-key, portable grand. Also used as midi controller. I also have true pianos software which is a very realistic midi piano program.

My space is acoustically treated and comfortable. The room is oddly shaped and sounds great.

I've been recording music for over 14 years, but have recently decided to ramp up my recording studio and offer the service to area bands. I'm offering my services as a way for you to get your sound heard the way that you want others to hear it. In the studio, I am there to get you to that place and help you showcase your art. Please give me the opportunity. You won't be disappointed. I have samples of my work at www.myspace.com/eoerox. Please keep in mind that these samples were done with a lot less mics than I have now in a 8 by 10 untreated room. My experiences with this room have been much more impressive. I'll be adding tracks as quickly as I can get them up.[/url]
