Movie / Tv scenes which don't add up

Watching New Amsterdam on fox tonight they showed a shot in a nightclub circa 1964. Well in the shot they used what looked to be an Shure SM 57.

Well I thought that looked a bit odd I didn't feel the 57 went back quite that far. Checked it out, it looks as if it was introduced in 1965.

What the point of this I love watching TV and Movies and finding little things that just don't belong. Things like clocks on the wall where the time either doesn't change when it should or changes big time when it shouldn't.
A car from the wrong year, maybe the same car passing on the street two or three times. A empty glass in one shot then full in the next shot only to be empty seconds later. Maybe a reflection of the crew in a mirror.

Anyone else look for these types of things. What have you seen?

On my favorite (now cancelled) TV show, Jericho, I think I detected a blooper in the second season's premiere. The scene has a railroad steam engine (and actually, a Pennsylvania Railroad engine) attempting to haul in supplies to reinforce the attackers from the town of New Bern. The character Hawkins parks an army tank on the railroad track to stop the train, and the engineer tries to brake the train. However, instead of hearing a steam whistle, the train engineer blows what sounds like a diesel engine horn!

Railroad historians/enthusiasts might also question the validity of a Pennsy steam engine running out in western Kansas.

I also remember a movie set in prehistoric times (I believe Caveman with Ringo Starr), where in one of the scenes you can see a jet exhaust trail in the blue sky...

The old westerns were good for that......jet contrails in the perfect clear blue sky.

That 70's Show used to get me. Early on, they were VERY careful about putting 70's-culture references in, from language to fashion to the music of the day. After awhile, they were more That New Millenium Show, sounding more like Friends than Good Times... "Kelso, that's SOOO not-funny!" Plus, the show was on for how many years, and they graduated high-school and got engaged and stuff, but it was always 1978.
I remember seeing one of those network miniseries, Shogun, I think, where in one scene set in feudal Japan, the English character had a LED watch on. Occasionally in old Westerns you can see power lines in the background, too. They're so common, we look right through them.---->JMS

Something else was with the Dukes of Hazzard. They would jump the car and show a shot of it being dented and such, the next shot would be of a brand new car.

Little house was another one - Micheal Landon worked in the saw mill but never got saw dust all over him and when he worked in the fields he would never sweat.

In army of darkness he shoots about 12 shots out of a double barrel shot gun without reloading.

We did a thing in a college class where we had to take a movie and pic out the mistakes. We watched day after tomorrow and within the first half hour we had of fifty mistakes lol

This makes me think of Spinal Tap - IF you watch the seen where they are the party with Fran Drescher and pay close attention to their cold sore you will see that with every seen it changes position lol .

They destroyed several hundred Chargers during the run of that show.

Yeah, I read that the show was the only thing that was keeping the chargers going. No one else was buying them ...

The Internet Movie Database (IMDB.com) has a section specifically for "Goofs" in each movie. It also has memorable quotes and soundrack sections...definitely my favorite source for movie info.

I'd forgotten that one! I remember a chase with a pickup truck... in one shot it was a black Dodge pickup, and in the next shot only 3 seconds later, it's a black Chevy, then it switched back and forth, in shots that made it obvious it was in two very different places, and cut together. And neither of those places resembled Hazzard County, Kentucky. More like Marin County, California.

I could be wrong but I think the registration sticker on the Wisconsin license plate pointed out the year.
I just watched I Am Legend and everyone is supposed to be dead for three years. Wil Smith has power. Who's running the electric co.?

8 Seasons, and it actually goes from May 17, 1976 to Dec 31, 1979. Each season is about half a year. I'm guessing you seen the parts of the two seasons in that year. At the end of each episode, the license plate shows the year its supposed to take place in. I just finished watching all 8 seasons and I'm on the second trip thru them... just love the show =)

I think all the episodes are named after songs in that era. All of season 5 is zep song titles

I thought hazard county was in Georgia ? lol .. yeah, that show was notorious for things like that ...

Check out the movie JADE. The movie sucks, but it is totally worth watching for the movie's secrets. There is a part during a car chase when the lead car goes airborne. When the car lands...the airbags go off! Then there is a car wreck scene...the ol roll over...you can see the hydrolic jack go off to make the car roll. And lastly...one of the main characters gets wacked by a bus or truck...anyway, you can actually see the bungie cord pulling the person away from the bus/truck right before impact. Bad, bad editing, but so worth watching just for finding little mistakes like that.

You gotta love dvd's and the "slow motion" or "pause" then "fast forward" combo!

Almost forgot...this is for all of us/you STAR WARS buffs...there was NUDITY in RETURN OF THE JEDI...so much for the PG rating! It was during OOLA'S (green lady with weird tentacle like things from her head) dance for Jabba the Hutt. When Jabba starts to yank on her chain she starts to fight back...and...woops...BOOBIE!!! Then she falls into the Rancor pit and her boobie is to never be seen again.

CHiPs was always a fun one for continuity as well. I remember seeing the ramp at least once in their weekly "car-runs-into-the-back-of-another-and-vaults-over-it" stunt. And there always seemed to be a gasoline tanktruck fixin' to explode at the end. Luckily, Ponch and John were on the job!--->JMS
