I have a Gibson Explorer that rocks...and an Ibanez hard tail that is sweet and I have owned, ESP's, Kramer's and Fender's

But the best guitar I ever played is My Peavey V-type....

I think You can have a lemon in any brand (just like automobiles) In reality....You get what You pay for.

Im a singer but I had to go with Ibanez. I love the sound of the Ibanez S7320BK. The guitars the guys from Unearth Play. They got a sick slim look and awesome tone.

Wow, this can be a tough choice...I've played them all and most of them are pretty good, given certain models and specs...Right now I've been a Gibson Les Paul and Jackson/Charvel guy...The Paul Reed Smith's are incredible guitars(I will own one someday soon!) and the Schecters are good as well...I also own a Fender Strat that's nice, but it wouldn't be on my top list.

Tough call between a Strat and a LP for me. Had to go with the Fender, just for durability and ease of modding.

You can buy an LP and it'll sound good from the get-go!!! No modding needed, lol.

Just kidding, Stratobastard27.

I hate the feel and sound of the Les Paul. Id rather play a strat.

Apples and oranges. If I were a guitarist, I'd have both (or at least a LP and one "Strat-styled" guitar).

Personally though, I think Gibsons are overpriced. There's no way I'd pay over two grand for a production line guitar or bass. I'd have to be really impressed to pay more for a custom instrument.

I love strats, I always do some sort of mod to them, i must also say I have a Kramer striker that I paid 170 for new came with a nice floyd , ok pickups and a coil tap, alder body and quilted maple top , very nice for the cash a great back up, although the 24 frets messes me up at times, but my 73 strat with a scalloped maple neck and brass nut and brass bridge pieces really sounds the best out of any of my other guitars for overall playing , not the best for dives or ultra distorted sounds.

I don't think I've ever played a guitar with a brass nut on it. How does it effect the guitar's tone??

brighter more sustain and better for vibrato on a stock strat set up. Its a good 15 dollar investment bone and graphite are also good , for me brass works the best take a guitar and replace the stock plastic nut with a brass one and you will hear a difference.

I realize I may be branded a heretic for saying this...but so far the sweetest action I've ever played was a Peavey Wolfgang. I'm not a big Eddie van Halen fan, but the man knows how to make a nice guitar.

No way man, those early Peavey Wolfgangs were nice playing guitars for sure. I prefer Eddie's Kramer guitars myself, and I also like the Charvel 'art series' EVH guitars but I think Charvel quit making them as far as I know?
If you like the Wolfgang, try an Ernie Ball 'Music Man', it's the same thing with the same feel. I owned a Wolfgang and a Music Man and they were very similar guitars with few changes.

Yes, I think that Charvel did cease production on the Charvel Art Series EVH guitars. I believe that they were a limited run to begin with.
Too pricy in my opinion, but hey what can ya do??

I also love the old Kramers such as the Baretta,Pacer, and Voyager's.
Don't care for the new "Gary Kramer" guitars though. He's the founding father of Kramer guitars who sold the Kramer name, and now he's back building guitars again, but his designs are all crazy looking.
He probably has to be careful about what he can and cant build due to copyright infringement.

Onegunguitar has a Peavey Wolfgang, and it's super nice, but he never plays it anymore cause he likes Dean now  Hahaha!

Scott, you should allow me to give that Wolfgang an EVH stripe paint job, that would be some sweet stuff!

Gibson ES335 "S" (for solidbody) Professional. This ax has the BEST playin neck I've ever experienced!! Jumbo frets ebony fingerboard and shallow C shape. I made a few mods: original bridge was a TP-6 (junk) so I replaced w/ a roller bridge, replaced nut with a graphite one, replaced the bridge dirty fingers pickup w/a PAF, added a dula coil tap system and installed Shaller tuners. Otherwise it's stock
