Rocking the ukulele!

Post by Jim Price »

As an aspiring ukulele player myself, these videos give me something to aspire toward. The performer is Jake Shimabukuro. The first link is to a piece on CNN's website today showcasing Jake. The second is Jake doing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." I may have posted the "Bohemian Rhapsody" link before, but it doesn't get old. This guy is great!

The uke is defnitely a fun instrument. We watched a video of a guy playing as my guitar gently weeps. Was amazing!

Awesome post, JP! This is why we all love you. It's awesome to see how much you've grown as an artist.

Jake Shimabukuro is sick and from another world.

I've been playing uke for 4 years now, and I LOVE it. Ukes are great songwriting tools. I have tiny hands that can't seem to play the more complex voicings on the guitar, but I can play them with ease on the uke. I play a tenor model. Do yourself a favor and get some Ko'olau GOLD strings.

That was crazy. My grandfather just built a Ukelele but now I think I should build one with him and learn it. That was just cool..
