I really dug that, good find and post, I also linked on YouTube to Frampton playing Blackhole Sun w/ Chris Cornell.

Yes, that vid was not as high quality, but I think Frampton's guitar tone really had some balls on that version.

Holy keyboard Batman, I'm only 3 posts away from 2000.

Yeah. I was just expecting him to pick it up more on that version, like his own version. But either way, cool song, cool cover, cool guy playing with it, in it, and all about it!

That's off Frampton's latest CD. He actually did "Black Hole Sun" during his performance at the Clearfield County Fair a few summers ago.

I LOVE this song. We messed around with it for awhile and had it down musically, but we just couldn't manage to pull off a good enough vocal to make it convincing. One of my few regrets. I guess we could've tried it as an instrumental. It seems to work well for Frampton.

Frampton's tone on the Cornell version is quite "fat" (as Steve Marriot would say). I like it.

And Steve Marriot would certainly would know Frampton's "fat" tone, since they played together in Humble Pie, one of the most underrated bands of all time. I was lucky enough to catch Humble Pie in concert 2 times. Once there were the headliners and Montrose opened for them, the other I think they opened for Ten Years After.

WOOT! WOOT! MY 2000th POST.
