Love Rancid....this song kind of sucks though.
Their best album in my opinion was "...And Out Come the Wolves"

Ruby Soho: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5IV3AbLBa0

Maxwell Murder (Bassist Matt Freedman is fantastic in my opinion): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bimNMiz250

Radio Havana: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrcRr9h0wq8

Fall Back Down: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOwXby4lqfI
Worth dying for. Worth killing for. Worth going to hell for. Amen.

I definitely love Let's Go the best.

"Wolves" was pretty good too.

I'm not surprised by who responded saying they don't like rancid. Based upon who I've seen you are into in past threads.

To each their own.

I not sure I follow your logic there. Speaking for myself, I cut my baby teeth in the Punk scene. I was even in a band that covered Op Ivy songs. Regardless, you're right...I still don't like Rancid.

Right on.

I do like Rancid. That's why I posted a video of them. For those that agree, enjoy. For those that don't, sorry for making you read this thread.

...I'm sure the guys that like old school punk think that stuff "blows" but to me, that's the stuff that reminds me of growing up. It'd be the same as me thinking what they call punk now sucks.
I see where you're coming from. I guess you could definitely say my tastes were more "Old School". I liked a lot of the classic bands... Misfits, the Pistols (who I actually like more now than then), the Kennedy's, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, etc. I also listened to a lot of RKL, Poison Idea, Subhumans, Crass, the Damned, Blitz, English Dogs, Discharge, C.O.C.,... Hell I listened to a LOT of different shit (too much to keep listing). I liked a lot of Skrewdriver's stuff too, even if the message was pretty controversial.

I suspect that at the core was always really a just a metalhead that was attracted to the underground scene and aggressiveness of punk. While I still appreciate some of that stuff I still actively listen to my old metal albums while most of the punk stuff has either been put on permanent loan or is sitting around gathering dust. I think in the end the relative simplicity of punk is what I liked about it and also what ultimately what made me lose some interest. As I grew more competent on my instrument, it just didn't hold up as well. Like you said...to each is own.

Yeah, i don't imagine posting a youtube link to one of their songs would go over well in certain areas.

Oh, and even if you don't like Rancid. You can't deny Matt Freeman is a fucking amazing Bassist.

True.

I used to play Maxwell Murder in an old band. It's a good thing that it's a short song. 8)

Now this is what punk rock is about. I could add about 300+ more bands but I'm not gonna.
