You don't have to like what we do or what we stand for, but why bash a formula that worked? Rob said it best. We put asses in the seats. Every time. Victor, great to hear that HF1 will be doing a show this year. My old guitar player, Aaron Kerr, loved catching you guys out and he can still, to this...

Claudio may seem abrasive at times but if you consider some of the shit that he has put up with over the past few years it can be justified. Maybe research a little deeper to discover why no side door exit/entrance. He was protecting your butt. In all honesty, nakedtwister, I am not aware of anythi...

I don't and never pretended to be a 'rockstar' Robbie old boy. I've played music in this area for over 25 years and always showed respect and courtesy to bar owners and others associated with the business and only expected the same in return. I and my bandmates were not aware of the how tightly the ...

'not always tactful' was a polite way of putting it... we were totally soured on the establishment as a result. But thanks for the info on the PLCB. I have taken the time to skim other threads on this site about the PLCB. We don't have a enforcement division in MD, WV, or VA that is as overbearing. ...

TOTALLY DISSED @ 30SOMETHING
We played 30something in Altoona last night and man it was a long, painful night. Bar owner was dissing us left and right all night long. We're from the Cumberland MD area and never played in PA before. It would appear that his concern was over potentional LCB violations. Our singer was about to tak...

Woodchux's
Not going on a major rant here... believe it or not, I've actually matured a bit in a year's time and am not the angry old man I used to be! Just wanted to pass along to the bands here on Rockpage a little advisory. Our band, One-Eyed Jack had some trouble dealing with Woodchux's, a little neighborh...

Reading this thread brings back so many memories. First off, from what I've heard Steve's doing fine with Funny Money. It does kinda suck that they didn't start taking off until Dean Cramer left the band. I always thought Steve and Dean would make an awesome team, but Dean seems to be doing quite we...

We're certainly not at the level many of the bands are that participate on this board. We've only been in existance since March and the Shooters gig was like our fifth job as a group. We've done very well at the Cumberland Democrat Club and at Dunagan's in Mt Savage and we're just now starting to g...

Re: Rip off...
It doesn't take long to figure out what places are on the "up and up". ... and that's the trick — you have to figure out who's worth working with and who's not. That's for the band members to decide. In this particular case, I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time feeling bad when there wer...

That's cool. I appreciate your point of view. However, my argument lies in the fact that the management of the establishment agreed to pay us $150 PLUS THE DOOR, paid us $150, then proceeded to LIE about the initial agreement saying that we had only booked the gig for $150 and no door money was invo...

There is to an extent. It starts with sharing stories about clubs that have shafted you over and then identifying clubs that always treat bands poorly. Follow that up with a loose verbal agreement amongst bands in that local area to not contract with that club to protest their treatment and trust me...

Another place that used to shaft bands around here was the Java Club. If you had a good night crowdwise the owner would give your four or five dates at whatever price you wanted. The first bad night you would have there, you'd be screwed on the rest of the dates. It wouldn't be so bad if he came bac...

You would think RamRod 1, but to many bar owners an agreement is an agreement as long as it makes $$$ sense to them. Down our way, the E-Z Way Inn was another such establishment that earned a reputation for rooking bands out of money, and I think there was or is a place in Bedford called The Warehou...

Lonewolf: I honestly don't doubt that there have been far worse experiences as I have been on the short end of many in my 24 years of performing. I'm certainly not demanding that every band should actively participate. I'll leave that to each individual's discretion. What I am asking is that everyon...

I would also ask that any bands that would like to take a more active role in supporting our cause place the image below on their website or MySpace page as a show of support. I've included the HTML code below it so you can simply cut and paste! Thanks to all those who are willing to take an active ...

SHOOTERS SHORTS ONE-EYED JACK!
I'll keep this brief but I do want to post a notice of warning to all bands in the local area. DO NOT contract with Shooter's Bar & Grill. We played there April 28th. The crowd was smallish, maybe 12-15 people tops. Nonetheless management did not ask us to end the show early and we actually play...
