How to win: Have another mic on stage, running to the board as usual. Run it to the board, and have your sound guy put the "singer" into his own monitor. Done. Let 'em sing all night. Or, since that's way too much work generally, have another mic on stage and just tell them it's wireless w...

After they failed to get underage drinkers, I'm surprised they didn't nail the bar with a noise violation just to be the bitches that they are. PLCB can't do anything about noise. Also, I hate the PLCB. Like we don't have better things to worry about than people out having some fun, eh? Bastards. A...

Guitar Center

Anyone else tempted to head to Guitar Center?
The Ampeg SVT-6PRO for $495 is calling me for no real reason.

Not sure what amp you're talking about, but pretty much you should be able to drop any 6L6 in there. Again, without amp model I can't say for sure, but you might need to re-bias as well.

We need more definition on what OP means by "amp". If only by the actual AMP part, i.e. head, then there's no problem at all. Like previously pointed out, the largest difference between guitar and bass amps is power output and EQ point centers. There are other differences, but those are th...

My niche is excatly going to be that: good amp, cheap. Also have options like the ones listed thus far; para EQ, multi channel (2- or 3- channel, even!). I would consider doing pre only as well at this point. I realize that I'd need to build a rep among musicians before I can realy expect to have pe...

I'll be building guitar and bass amps :). I realize it's hard to get someone to buy beta products. I'm working on a couple of other betas, but also don't just want to give them away even. If I "lend" them out, I'd want to be on hand for eveything, practices, gigs, etc. I don't mind doing t...

I do plan on getting an all tube bass amp sometime in the semi-near future though.
How "near"? What specs are you looking for?

test driving some tube amps? Basically, I'm looking to start a tube amp business. Guitar and bass stuff mostly, but home audio stuff isn't too far of a stretch from there. My main goal is to have a botique type head (or combo) that you get to choose what tubes you want in the pre/power section. Also...

Proactice for at least an hour a day.
Last year it was practice for at least 30 minutes a day. This actaully lasted until about mid august! However, you can't accomplish a whole lot in 30 minutes.

I've said "this is the last bass I'll need" many times already. Never seem to keep. I've fulfilled "my" tone long ago, but there's always the next bass I gotta have just to try.
If it were up to me, I'd get the Mod with the truss rod first. I haven't met a Carvin I like yet...

I drive into work daily at 0500. Anyone travelling 869 between Sidman and New Enterprise had one hell of a drive then. From Beaverdale clear to Osterburg is was nothing but ice. I only saw one plow truck. I kept my truck in 2WD and kept the hammer near the floor though Hey, I can see long stretches ...

I would, however, pay like $200 for good seats at Dream Theatre and a few select others!

I never much cared for him as a player, and certainly never as a person either.
I'm hoping that they look past the prestige of him being an NFL player, and treat him just like any Joe on the street. Serve at least the min. penalty.
I'm betting he gets off somewhat easy though.

I'm not a huge football fan. However, I do enjoy sitting down and watching the games as I can, or if they're not on T.V., I'll listen to them on 99.1. I don't follow stats, or even coaches. I know my Steeler's players, and not many others in the leagues (except for the big names, obviously). I'm ver...
